The primary tasks of the Institute of Missile Technology and Mechatronics are to train personnel for the Air Defense Forces of the Land Forces, the Air Defense Forces, the Missile Forces, the Artillery of the Land Forces, as well as engineers sought by industry in the design and operation of automated production stations.

In addition to preparation in the operation of mechatronic equipment (including missiles), graduates of the Institute of Missile Technology and Mechatronics have the knowledge and skills to design, manufacture and operate integrated mechanical, electronic and information technology structures, known as mechatronics for short. The knowledge they acquire during their studies provides them with a systemic view of problems related to mechanical engineering and electronics issues using modern technologies and computer tools.
Graduates of the Institute of Missile Technology and Mechatronics are also prepared for teaching and research work in military education, in civilian universities and in research and development units supervised by the Minister of Defense, as well as in medium-sized and small enterprises of the national economy engaged in the manufacture, operation and repair of mechatronic devices and systems.
